Located in Dargaville, Te Uri O Hau Trust needed an affordable, multi-functional extension to their outdoor space. They wanted a structure that could protect staff vehicles, serve as a covered gathering area, and host community events—all while ensuring the project remained within budget.

The Challenge: A Functional & Budget-Friendly Canopy System

The trust required a structure that could:

✔️ Offer a weatherproof, UV-resistant space suitable for gatherings and community events.
✔️ Be cost-effective to align with the trust’s budget while still ensuring long-term durability.
✔️ Handle Dargaville’s variable weather conditions, from heavy rain to intense summer heat.

The Shadeland Solution: Custom Canopies Designed for Affordability & Performance

To meet these needs, we designed and installed four 30sqm carport canopies, providing 120sqm of fully waterproof coverage.

Affordable, High-Quality Materials: We used Ferrari Architectural PVC for complete waterproofing and powder-coated aluminum for a durable, sleek finish—all at a price point that suited the trust’s budget.

All-Weather Protection: The canopies are 100% UVA & UVB resistant, reducing heat by up to 70%, ensuring a comfortable and shaded environment even on Northland’s hottest days.
Strong Foundations, Smart Drainage: The installation required 800x800mm concrete footings, which we prepared using hydrovac excavation in partnership with Revolve Environmental. Custom drainage solutions were implemented to ensure long-term performance and water management.
Multi-Use Functionality: Designed as carports, these canopies seamlessly double as an event space—ensuring year-round usability.
