Shadeland’s story began in the stunning Bay of Islands, inspired by a simple yet powerful idea that emerged on a fishing trip. Founders Graeme Peter and Daniel Taitoko envisioned a business that would deliver New Zealand-made quality combined with a strong commitment to the local community. This vision became a reality in 2020, when we launched as Canvasland Te Tai Tokerau.
By 2022, we rebranded to Shadeland, expanding our product range to offer even more exceptional shade and shelter solutions designed to endure Northland’s coastal climate.Our journey reached new heights in 2023 with the acquisition of Kerikeri’s trusted Keri Canvas and Shades, a business with over 20 years of service in Northland.
Now operating as Shadeland Kerikeri, we have grown from a one-person operation in a borrowed van to Northland’s leading shade and shelter experts. This incredible growth reflects our unwavering dedication to quality, craftsmanship, and our Northland community.
